A London estate agent found himself on the wrong side of the law one night, leading to the loss of his driving licence, his job, his home and sending him spiraling into depression.
He decided to visit Spain for a change of scenery and lifestyle but got way more than he bargained for when before long, misfortune, circumstance and a degree of stupidity landed him in more trouble than that from which he had fled back home.
One night in Marbella, after a few too many drinks and armed with more Dutch courage than common sense, he rescued two people from a burning hotel but in the process was falsely accused of arson and manslaughter and thrown in a Spanish jail.
‘Aided' by a UK tabloid journalist whose sole purpose was merely to create shock headlines, David's real life account of nail-biting events leading up to and following the fire have had readers leaving 5* reviews on Amazon in their hundreds.
My story is part of a book I wrote some years ago and have never attempted to publish. It's too long for the comments but It's got me thinking about my book. But thanks for your encouragement Mark.
I have a story that didn't terrify me but it creeped me out. It is not about ghosts it was real and unreal at the same time. It is also funny. Any interest?
My mother, despite my pleadings, decided she HAD to add vinegar to a pot of crabs BEFORE they were cooked. 13 desperate crabs decided they could not bear to stay in the crab pot one moment longer and immediately scrambled out, unheeding of the lid, into my mother's kitchen. It definitely looked like something out of a horror movie.
I've seen a ghost!
Five "thumbs-up" for "Striped Socks." Well done!
I have a true horror story, well it’s not horror exactly, but it was a nightmare for me!
Do tell!

Thank you Eleanor, your story will be published on Feb 27th 🤩
Please use my pen name.
I don't put any names 👍
That is unfair, and not what the rules state:
3. Publishing & Compensation …
You will be credited in published works (under your real name, pseudonym, or anonymously, as requested).
Ok, I've credited you but that's an error in the t's and c's and has been fixed now.
Thank you! Although that might reduce the number of entries. How do I send you my pen name? I tried to reply to your email, but it didn't take.
